A group of actors and actresses on both sides of the border are going online to raise money to fund the cancer treatment for one of Vancouver’s most popular actresses Babz Chula, who has currently battling cancer. Chula, the perennially youthful veteran of nearly four decades in Vancouver’s movie, theatre and music scenes, needs an expensive new treatment developed in Austria that isn’t covered by provincial health benefits.
In order to help raise funds for this new treatment, a group of Babz Chula’s closet friends are getting together to auction themselves off for dinners with succesful bidders on ebay. Both Paul McGillion and Jewel Staite are part of the line up, the auction is due to run from the 2nd April to the 12th April.
Items to be auctioned off include dinners with:
• David Duchovny (Californication, X-Files) and Nicholas Lea (X-Files, Men in Trees)
• Chris Carter (X-Files)
• Callum Keith Rennie (X-Files movie, Battlestar Galactica)
• Peter DeLuise (Stargate SG-1)
• Paul Adelstein (Prison Break, Private Practice) and Suleka Mathew (Men In Trees, Touch of Pink)
• Gabrielle Miller (Corner Gas, Robson Arms) and John Cassini (Intelligence, Robson Arms)
• Paul McGillian and Jewel Staite (Stargate Atlantis)
• Matthew Good (musician)
• Tahmoh Penikett and Kandyse McClure (Battlestar Galactica)
