Jason Momoa Conan Is A Reveng Film

Conan the Barbarian star Jason Momoa has revealed that the upcoming reboot of Robert E. Howard’s popular character is effectively a “revenge” film.

Momoa, who currently stars in the HBO medieval drama Game of Thrones, plays the titular character in Marcus Nispel’s upcoming
relaunch of the franchise this August.

“It kind of is an origin story,” Momoa explained to MTV News. “It’s rebuilding and rebooting the franchise.”

The actor explained that the film will follow how Conan deals with the untimely death of his family, how he becomes one of the world’s greatest warriors and his request for vengeance.

“It’s a revenge story with a little bit of love in there,” Momoa added.

Momoa also said that he has made a conscious decision not to watch the original Conan films, which starred Arnold Schwarzenegger, until he has seen the final cut of his own performance.

Conan the Barbarian is due for release in cinemas on August 19.
