STARGATE UNIVERSE CANCELLED BY STUDIO

Syfy has decided not to renew Stargate Universe for a third season.

The cable network will air the last 10 episodes of Season 2 of the action-adventure series, the third in the Stargate franchise, in the spring of next year.

Created by Brad Wright and Robert C. Cooper in 2009, the third series featured a human crew forced to evacuate to an Ancient spaceship called the Destiny on the far side of the Universe, with little hope of ever returning home to Earth.

The series was also notable for its cast, which included several veteran actors,  including  Robert Carlyle as Dr. Nicholas Rush, Louis Ferreira as Colonel Everett Young, Ming-Na as Camile Wray and Lou Diamond Phillips as Colonel David Telford. David Blue, Brian J. Smith, Elyse Levesque Jamil Walker Smith and Alaina Huffman also starred in the series
