Our long-time dream of a Funko SG-1 team is one step closer to reality. Today we got our first look at the second wave of figures coming from Funko since the company launched their Stargate line earlier this year: the brilliant astrophysicist Samantha Carter, and the Jaffa warrior Teal’c.
This is the second set of Stargate Pops from Funko, following last summer’s debut of five characters from the 1994 feature film: Jack O’Neill, Daniel Jackson, Ra, Anubis Guard, and Horus Guard. (Check out that photo gallery here.)

These are expected to land online later this week, with pre-orders expected to start at the typical price of $12 to $13 (USD). Last time the figures were released a few weeks after pre-orders, so we are anticipating that fans might get their hands on these in January.
We don’t know yet if there will be additional characters in Wave 2, or if Teal’c and Sam are the only new additions this month. We’ll know more when listings show up on retail sites.
Sam and Teal’c were of course the two characters we wanted most when the first batch was released earlier this year. While those turned out mostly pretty great (see our video review below), though, the TV versions of Richard Dean Anderson’s Jack O’Neill and Michael Shanks’ Daniel Jackson are very different characters. So we’re hoping the full SG-1 line will also include those characters, at least eventually. Pairing Sam and Teal’c with the Kurt Russell and James Spader versions of their teammates is just … no, just no. Fans need the real SG-1.
