Stargate’s Elyse Levesque is headed back to science fiction, with a role in a new genre series for MGM.

Deadline reports that the former Stargate Universe co-star will appear in the new science fiction drama Earth Abides, based on the classic novel by George R. Stewart. The show is currently in production as a limited event series and will run on MGM+ this fall.

Levesque played Chloe Armstrong on SGU, which ran for two seasons on Syfy Channel. She confirmed the casting news on Instagram, saying: “What a dream to be a part of this talented ensemble!”

Written and executive produced by Todd Komarnicki (Sully) for MGM+ Studios, Earth Abides follows the survivors of a plague that has all but wiped out the human race. Alexander Ludwig (Vikings) and Jessica Frances Dukes (Ozark) star.

Levesque will play Maurine, described as “beautiful but troubled,” a woman who is “used to a life of wealth and sophistication” but is left despondent by her past traumas.

Sci-fi TV fans might also recognize other cast members on the new series, including Luisa D’Oliveira (The 100), Aaron Tveit (Schmigadoon!), Hilary McCormack (Killjoys), Jenna Berman (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina), Rodrigo Fernandez-Stoll (Ghosts), and Birkett Turton (iZombie).

The 6-episode series will be distributed worldwide by Amazon MGM Studios Distribution.
