Stargate Universe actor David Blue has admitted that he does not mind the fan speculation surrounding his character’s relationship with Chloe Armstrong (Elyse Levesque).
Blue, who plays Eli Wallace, told UGO that he is pleased with viewer reaction to the potential romance.
“I consider it a compliment that people ask [about that] every time, because that means people actually saw the connection that was… supposed to be there,” he explained.
He added that there is still hope for the couple, despite the introduction of a new love interest for Eli in the show’s second season.
“It’s television, [so] you never say goodbye to anything,” he claimed. “Even with… Eli’s new girlfriend, I don’t think that means that there isn’t a possibility down the line for Eli and Chloe.”
Blue also confirmed that he is committed to the sci-fi drama for the long-term.
“I don’t know if I could have the stamina of [Stargate SG-1 actor] Richard Dean Anderson, to do the show for ten years,” he confessed. “But… we’d love to be on for four or five years. If everyone wants us around that long, I think we’d all be gung-ho for it.”
