Stargate SG-1: “Window of Opportunity”
“Window of Opportunity” rightly deserves its spot as one of Stargate fans’ all-time favorite episodes, filled not only with humor but a whole lot of heart. Jack and Teal’c are trapped in a time loop, forced to repeat the same day over and over and over again. Since no one else around them remembers anything when the loop resets, Jack and Teal’c have to learn enough about their situation to find a way out.
Their time-loop plight is instigated by Malikai, an alien archaeologist seeking a way to spend one more day with his late wife. Actor Robin Mossley puts in a sympathetic performance as the character, who isn’t so much an antagonist as a tragic figure desperate to figure out time travel in order to heal his broken heart.

Mossley talks about his character, that heartfelt scene played with Richard Dean Anderson in the episode’s climax (when O’Neill references his own lost son) … and trying to make sense of the “Whack-a-Mole” prop that was the Ancient console on P4X-639.
“When I was having to interact with it I had to put my hands on it, [and] it had to look like I knew what I was doing,” he said. “It was shifting around all over the place. … And then you’re also acting your butt off as well. That’s probably the only bad thing from that entire shoot was having to deal with the ‘Whack-a-Mole’ thing. Everything else was really lovely.”
And can you name the episode of Stargate SG-1 where Mossley returned as a different character? The production brought the actor back as an Earth scientist for the Season Ten episode “Morpheus.” His character Dr. Reimer met a nasty fate when SG-1 visited a planet where a microscopic parasite caused people to fall asleep and never wake up again.
